Few people understand the importance of getting your boiler checked annually. Here are some reasons why you should!
- Save money on repairs
Full-blown boiler problems can often develop from minor faults. An annual service will increase the chance that these are picked up on and fixed before they become a problem, saving you money and future hassle. - Reduce your heating costs
The engineer who undertakes your annual boiler service will make sure that it is running as efficiently as possible. This will go a long way towards making sure that you minimise your heating bills. - Carbon monoxide can kill
Boilers that aren’t properly installed, maintained or ventilated can produce carbon monoxide. Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning include headaches, drowsiness, and nausea, breathlessness and stomach pains. Signs are hard to spot and can be confused with tiredness or a cold. Unfortunately this silent killer can’t be seen or smelt, so it really is important to make sure your boiler is serviced at least once a year. - If you’re a landlord, it’s the law
If you’re a landlord in Central London, East London or West London, you have a legal responsibility to ensure that each of your properties has a current Gas Safety Certificate. Only Gas Safe Register approved engineers are qualified to perform this gas safety check and issue a CP12 Inspection Certificate to prove it.
Other ways to keep your heating system working as safely and efficiently as possible:
Install a Magnetic Filtration Unit
All gas central heating systems using hot water to provide heat produce iron oxides (Magnite) and other debris. It has long been recognised that the presence of these materials within gas central heating systems leads to a drop in heating efficiency and a shorter life for boilers and other components. Carrying out power flushes and adding an inhibitor when a new boiler is fitted are effective ways to minimise this potential problem. Increasingly, fitting a magnetic filtration device to the system is being used to further reduce the risk of on-going damage to central heating systems.
Magnetic filtration units are a proven, high efficiency, full-flow, magnetic filter designed to tackle all central heating systems removing virtually 100% of suspended black iron oxide protecting your boiler installation investment from the moment it is installed.

Give your heating system a Powerflush!
A power flush is a cleaning procedure carried out by our heating engineers that are trained and experienced. Power flushing your central heating system means cleaning the central heating water, the pipes, pump, radiators and the boiler, everything that the central heating water runs through.
Using a combination of chemicals and magnets to aid in the cleaning process, once clean we add a chemical called an “inhibitor” that stays in the system and prevents the re-forming of sludge.
Increased efficiency
The more sludge that gets removed, the more of an improvement in efficiency you will have in the system.
System reliability:
Clean systems break down less, as no sludge means no blockages, and less wear & tear on the parts that make up the system.
Increased system life:
Boilers, pumps, radiator valves and radiators last much longer if your system is clean and has the correct levels of inhibitor.
Leaks and leak damage:
Low levels of inhibitor in the system can cause the radiators to rust, and eventually start leaking, causing flood damage and a repair bill.
Savings:
You will save money from not having breakdowns and in the increase of efficiency in your system.
